Windows 2008 r2 update not working

So I installed it on both, and though that manual install went just fine, the KB, KB patches won't install, I'm getting the good ole' "the update is not applicable to your computer". Made double sure they are intended for R2. I'll keep hackin' at it It's gonna sound stupid - but did you restart after the Stack update?

It is a prerequisite for the rollup, so it may not be aware the stack was installed and hence saying not applicable. Oh and I hadn't answered Grammer or onecog but WSUS appears to be up to date, though I'm questioning everything ha, and I've not really needed to look at Windowsupdate.

Halp meh Tom Cruise! Brand Representative for AJ Tek. It will clean out all the synchronization logs that have built up over time configurable, with the default keeping the last 14 days of logs.

Run the server cleanup wizard. Lastly, but most important, it will run the recommended maintenance script on the actual SQL database. It will email the report out to you or save it to a file, or both. Follow the instructions at the top of the script, but essentially run.

So I'm going to manually install SP1 on one of them, then update the Windows Update agent and see what happens. So if anyone else has this issue where updates seem to butt up against SP1 for server R2, I manually installed SP1 and it fixed er. You're correct that the Service Packs Classification is not enabled, I can tell you that off the top of my head.

I've been fighting with WSUS for a long time now, and I'm doing a whole lot more than what was previously done, with no disrespect to my predecessor who wasn't given adequate time and resources to do any more. It's been way more challenging than I imagined! When you set updates view to needed WSUS-ese for "available" in Windows Update and not approved, if you have the console view the way I described, look at the "installed count" - if they are NOT approved, but still installed, likely they came from WU - and have experienced de facto testing already, you just don't know it.

If you select the update, in the bottom pane you can pull a report of who has it, or who "needs" it, etc. Similarly in computer view you can pull a report of what machines "need" a particular update which will show a column indicating if the update is approved for that computer and various others.

WSUS is best approached incrementally. Gradually keep working at it and you'll be up to date sooner than you think. It's far more likely those servers were spun up after the WSUS cut-over and with service packs not selected, they just cheerfully reported "nothing to see here, move along".

Thanks for all the help everyone, for anyone who ends up here hopefully they read all the posts; they all helped me get answers. Most states do not offer complete title information even on vehicles that are registered within their jurisdiction.
