The game, inspired by the cult-classic Wargames, superbly evokes the tension, paranoia and suspicion surrounding the Cold War era. Desperate attempts must be made to form fast, tactical alliances — alliances that may at any moment break-down to become treacherous and very deadly betrayals.
Release name: Defcon. Cracked-CRD Size: Comments Excuse me, but this game is amazing. Introversion is one of the coolest groups in the business these days. What exactly makes it crappy? I love the atmosphere of the game, the music is great and it still gives me the shivers when the nuke launch detections appear.
The whole scene wants to keep scene stuff within the scene, this is no different than every other torrent. I just love this game, I even bought it after getting hooked on the entertaining genocide. Why pay when we can get it for free…. Definatly old skool flavour. Well, the graphics. A good gaming experience is provided by nice graphics, different landscapes, enemies with different behavior or charisma, etc…. All the guys had the same picture in their file there were about 15 pictures maybe.
Anyway, good games are not only GeForce graphics Monkey Island 1 for instance but they have a scenario, a good soundtrack, and give the player the opportunity to confront different situations. Which is not the case for Uplink or Defcon. People like you sadden me, and makes me realize that the gaming industry nowadays is nothing more then releasing game after game based on the same old principle.
LOL yea rite like that would ever happen. This game is just like that one lol the difference between this and uplink was uplink was believably realistic. Did anyone else download this from here? I got it from the dlNova site, and when I try to unRaR it, it says the r00 file is missing!? Did anyone else have this problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! Thanks again. Worthwhile game. People like YOU sadden me. Read the whole stuff and try to understand the whole meaning before commenting such nonsense.
That guide was perfect. Thanks again for all of your help. TREXX bragging at how many nukes a country has is a completly void argument, it only takes one nuke to go of one time from any country to set of a chain and then sooner or later everyones dead, i think this game illustrates this perfectly. I remember hearing somewhere that if World War 3 was to ever happen, it would be over in 3 minutes. You say its lagging heavily.
Try turning off line smoothing. I know it sounds like nothing but it was the difference between a choppy game and a working game. Dont make any guarantees though that it will work. Just a thought. I have an integrated chipset. Your IP Address is. The game fills a void that I'd almost forgotten was there; a short exciting, self-contained game.
Not round after indefinite round of Counter-Strike game that isn't non-committal, with people dipping in, not doing anything for two minutes, then leaving. Something that relies on approachable simplicity but rewards thought and cool-headedness.
As a beginner, you won't feel instantly daunted, but you will get mopped up by the seasoned tacticians. But don't lose heart. The tide of war can be completely reversed - as it was between myself and that scumbag Robinson - with a couple of missiles slipping through my bloody stupid defences and hitting a well-populated town.
Perversely, you score nothing for destroying military targets. Tliat just makes your main job - killing civilians - easier. Two points for a million dead sound fair to you? Remember, it's peacetime, so send your subs on a peaceful day-trip to your neighbours' coastlines. Maybe put knotted hankies on their heads. At DEFCON 4 - increased intelligence - you start getting feedback from your radars, giving you the opportunity to place your units in a marginally more informed fashion.
If you haven't got all your units in place, then you're in trouble. Because now, it's action o'clock, and your naval units know it; unless you've formed a crafty alliance, your carriers start spitting crap at each other. It's also time to launch scout planes to check out neighbouring countries. Find the bastards' silos and wreck their radars, so when the time comes, your nukes will slip through like wet jelly through a squash racquet. DEFCON 2 - continued and heightened conflict - is just a stepping stone to the only section of the game where you can score points.
Global thermonuclear war. Jesus, it's been a while since I've heard those words together. Within minutes, the fully zoomed-out world map will become a chaos of trajectories, radiation and matter-of-fact info-bursts like 'London Hit: The fact it's all moving so slowly doesn't make it any less frantic.
Am I sounding excited? Because I am.
