Hi, i made some progress, the script can be used from Computer Client like Win10, and he dont need to import Active Directory modules, also dont need to enter config. Brandon Lee wrote a new post, Redirect user profile folders documents, pictures, etc.

For a long time, roaming profiles and folder redirection were the standard means under Windows for making user files available on different devices. Now that more and more users work on the road or at home rather than in the office, this technique is becoming increasingly obsolete. An alternative to such environments is to redirect profile folders to OneDrive. Paolo Maffezzoli posted an update 16 hours, 39 minutes ago. Paolo Maffezzoli posted an update 16 hours, 40 minutes ago. Its open for everyone. Brandon Park, stop being a dumb-ass. They're just posting results, not making wild claims. I say bring on the Mac comments! I took the plunge last night and is absolutely fantastic. I did not expect it to be such a marked difference from Vista x64 SP1.

This thing feels like a totally different OS. Not exaggerating. Try it peeps. It is worth the effort. I'm willing to bet that the difference you see is due to the "Previous Versions" feature.

It's enabled by default on Vista but disabled on Server. Vista SP1 and 2K8 are based on the same codebase so there shouldn't be any marked difference in how they behave internally. Isn't it better not to care about all these fucking licenses and use a pirated version of Windows? It is important to understand the license implications of any OS. Comments like using a pirated OS, make it hard to understand why you bother searching the forums for information to help improve user capabilities and understanding new technologies.

If you want free, go post in a BeOS forum. Have just installed but driver support seems to be limited due to it being built around x64 core. I can't get wifi at the moment. If anyone has a wifi card that work could you please let me know.

Even though they run the same codebase, the consumer version is run in a less optimal mode. Even the different versions of Vista do this. He said "mac os on my intel box" Meaning he didn't buy apple crap but made a hackintosh. I've done the same to build a video editing monster and it's fantasic, so clean and thanks to a journaled os, never needs defragged.

For comparison, my This is not a favorable setting for workstations, because you want your applications to be as responsive as possible. This is the final part of a three part article on building a laptop with Windows Server and configuring This is the second of a three part article on building a laptop with Windows Server R2 and This is the first of a three part article on building a laptop with Windows Server R2 and In this article we will review subject matter 'Configuring DNS Zones' of the Microsoft certification exam objective.

I ahve several Windows R2 servers. Always wanted sound. Windows Audio is started Perhaps you can expand on the why and then I might understand the benefits and reasons. I mean for laptop usage. Having a virtual system to use as laboratory allows me to use trial version of enterprise OS.

Had the perfect plan to run HyperV and everything. Blue Screen Of Death. Turns out you can not use any kind of graphics driver other than default windows driver on a HyperV server. Good plan gone terribly wrong I think Windows 7 is good enough as a workstation.

Has worked nicely for me thus far. Charlie This problem could be caused by the default Windows driver. Using the proper driver might be the solution. You can also try to uncheck the "Give exclusive mode application priority" option in the advanced tab of the properties dialog of your default sound device.

Ash Exactly. I work a lot with virtualized systems on my local machine and I haven't found a better solution than Windows Server R2 yet. I am using a virtual R2 on Hyper V. There are no sound devices installed by default which is why I get the red x over the speaker. I never thought about how to add a sound device in Hyper-V. Any ideas? Charlie, if you use rdp to connect to your virtualized Windows Server R2 you can use Remote Audio.

As far as I know there is no other way, because Hyper-V does not provide a virtual audio device. I made the mistake of setting up a complete VM environment only to realize I needed more space. While virtual machines can be resized using the disk manager utility, they cannot be resized if there are clones or snapshots tied to the VM. Essentially what this does is it reserves all of your hard drive space for your VM.

Think of it like formatting your VM image files. As noted there is a performance gain. However, this also means you are going to take up as much disk space as you enter in the field below. Thus I do not check this option. I do however split the files into 2GB files. The main reason is for defragmentation. If you have one large image file you need twice the amount of space to defrag it. After the virtual machine is setup be sure to check your settings and configure your monitors and other peripherals.

Once you get your settings tweaked launch the VM and get the Windows startup started. I like using server as my development operating system OS because it is tuned for speed unlike Vista.

There is a big difference in developing on Vista and Server Even comparing XP and Server there was a huge speed difference. A lot of things are turned off in server that are enabled in Vista and this is what contributes to its speed.

This setup will walk through how to configure Server as a workstation along with some specific VMWare things you need to do as well. This will provide drivers for the OS to run smoother and help you keep your sanity.

Things like the mouse jumping around randomly for no apparent reason will be fixed once this is installed. After installed, reboot. Check for updates. This is pretty much something you need to do on any operating system you install. Install the updates and reboot. Note: at the time of this article there are 9 updates for Server For starters check your time zone. Review the other options while you are in there and make sure your computer name is setup the way you want and other things.

If you are familiar with Server you know it annoyingly asks you why it was restarted after it reboots. In order to use Server as a workstation within your VM you will need to remove the baked in security settings for IE.

Here are the options I enable since I know this image is going to be primarily used for. Net development. I always select a minimal setup but feel free to select what you know you will need. I am basically going to be working day in and day out from this image so having the ability to search and find emails and files quickly is important.

What does this do? It enables Windows to learn which programs you use so it can pre-load those applications before you run then. It is a feature that was added in Vista. There are several services we need to enable to get Server to behave more like a workstation.

These are disabled by default. Totally optional and something you may or may not want to enable since this is running in a VM.

Right click on the desktop and select Theme. Choose the Vista Theme in the drop down to get a Vista look and feel for your virtual machine. Vista does the same thing so this will work in either case. It is a pita to find so I am attaching it to this article so I can easily find it down the road as well as to ease your setup pains.

We are going to be in the control panel tweaking some things next. While we are here, go ahead and activate Windows. Nothing is worse than forgetting to do this, then having to do it on every clone or snapshot down the line as you build up your VMs. In order to make this the fastest VM we can, we need to defrag the drive. Defragmenting the VM is the key to keeping things fast. Also remember to defrag the drive the virtual machine is running from!

Add this line to your. VMX configuration file. We need to create an account that we will use to login with and do work. Create your account in the control panel, I suggest setting the account as an administrator. Once the account is created, log out of the administrator account and then setup that account. Before moving forward we need to shrink our VM disk. This reclaims unused space on the drive.
