Recommended Posts. At least one-half of the credit hours required for the degree, including thesis, must be in the major at least 18 credit hours for the Master of Education degree. The remaining work may be in supporting courses and may comprise a minor consisting of at least 9 credit hours selected from and approved by the minor department. Thesis Requirements. Research activities involving human subjects or live vertebrate animals may not be conducted at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln unless the research activities have been reviewed and approved by the appropriate board or committee. These reviews are in accordance with Federal regulations, state laws and institutional policies. Approval must be secured prior to the initiation of the research. The thesis must conform to the required style and format described in Steps to Degree Completion. Core Phase Applications from students who currently hold a bachelors' degree in speech-language pathology will be submitted automatically to the Core Phase of the program. Degree Requirements Candidates for the Master of Science degree in Communicative Disorders Speech-Language pathology must complete at least 55 credit hours at the graduate level, exclusive of credits related to the completion of an optional master's thesis and courses required to complete ASHA certification requirements.

Comprehensive Exams Students will complete an eight-hour written comprehensive examination across two days during their last semester of study. Clinical Practicum The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association requires a minimum of clock hours of supervised clinical practicum in speech-language pathology to be eligible for certification; hours at the Graduate level.

Admission Requirements The application deadline for the fall semester is always the preceding February 1st. Successful applicants should have GRE scores that are consistent with the University of Louisville standards.
